A great many miles from an office I trusted to others to get them forwarded, and most unfortunately they were mislaid and forgotten - They certainly contained working of any importances, but still you must have wondered at my long silence -
the first portion of this as you see a part of one of the last communications - for the future the letters shall be numb. [numbered] and as I really forget what this ought to be will commence afresh and make the No. 1 and will take care to manage better for the future.
I have received yrs. [yours] dated Mar. 11th also a vy [very] short note since, informing me the instruments were in progress - wh [which] I can assure you is most welcome [indecipherable] &
You ask me for a sketch of The little [Tahra?] Church - it is almost more than I can promise, yet with being Very much engaged but will some time or other try and give you some idea of its appearance -
Was somewhat surprised to find you had turned a mother, [?] you say wonders will never cease -
