Dear Cousin Harry.
Received your cards today & am writing in answer at once. You see we have a large household here to look after so have not much time to spare for letter writing. Even at the present time we have a staff of nearly twently, & next month we expect to be very busy with buiness gemtlemen from England.
Yes, I have reached rather an important time of my life, now that I have turned twenty-one, but I do not feel very much different sofar. I did not have a party on my Birthday, but my little friend came down from Ramsey & spent the day with me, & Mother promises to take me to my first real Ball next month to make up for it. I thnk my little friend "Dorothy" would be greatly liked in your country. She is very fair, havig hair almost the colour of flax, light blue eyes, & a beautiful creamiy complexion. She will be eighteen in February, & she is extremely jolly & sweet tempered. I am just the opposite, I am afraid. I am about five foot two inches, & rather broad. My hair is a dark ruddy brown, & my eyes a dark grey, but I have a very fair complexion, my temper I say nothing of. I am
