The weather these last few days has been just heavenly. Warm, sunny & calm. The birds are having high old times - & one can hear the baby birds quarrelling away amongst themselves beautifully.
Mother & I were tempted by the glorious weather to cycle to Ballaugh to see Miss Brooke the other day. We stopped at the old Church & went & had a look around as we did when with you .... the old moon-dial is still in just the same place!
Im not going to pass any remark re the sentiment you express in your several letters, Harry. We told each other verbally all there is to tell. You have still your way in the world to make. I am untouched by your affection so far. Your duty is in your own home & mine is in my own home, for the present in any case. I know you care - I rather wish you didn't - & if you find it a relief for you to express yourself I am not so absurdly narrow as to forbid it.
