She was really very bad - so bad we feared we'd lose her.

Grandma Livesey is still alive and kicking - or I should say shouting! Oh dear, what a funny old dame she is. She keeps us all on tenter hooks, and is at the same time real good fun. She is very frail now though.

I have just received a big cheque - as "Royalties" for my book. It is selling much better than I expected.

I am very busy at the moment preparing the compilement of another volume.... It will take time, but I guess it will be the real things as far as "benefits" are concerned.

I trust George will be happy in his new sphere of life... Above all, I trust he will lay himself out to make his wife happy. For if he truly cares for her he will find his own happiness in hers, and in nothing else....

Thanks for the P.Cs enclosed in your letter.. Someday, perhaps, I shall see the Australian nature in the living flesh. If ever I do come out, nothing would please me better than to spend time exploring.

Well, dear Cousin, "adieu" for the present. News is scarse, and very little of what is of interest to me interests you, I know. I'm hoping you all keep well. Give my love to Auntie and Uncle, my boy Cousins, and newly made girl Cousins - not forgetting Ida and her chicks either.

With much love to yourself

Believe me as ever,

Marieeeee
