My dear Cousin...
Now, I suppose just the very morning after I've posted this off to you, a letter from you will arrive here - for that is what usually does happen. At any rate, has happened for quite the last three times...
Well, my laddie, and how has this exacting old world been a-using you? You seemed A.1. according to your last letter received by us... and to be enjoying a rattling good time as far as activity went... I was glad to learn you were more or less settled at last. It will be considerably better for you to be settled at something now. One may gather a modicum of experience by knocking about at one thing or another... but experience alone is small means to live upon, eh?
You'de had Ida's first-born son staying with you, you say. You would enjoy the change of his company, no doubt. Aren't Kiddies splendid companions? I love having a lot of children dangling about me... Its only
