My dear Cousin...

It is quite a while since I wrote you; and you'll be thinking it extremely unkind of me, if the Limited time passes without your receiving some sort of letter of thanks, and acknowledgement of your pretty cards, pictures - and extremely kind wishes for Xmas time.

Strange to say, your letters, etc, all turned up on the very morning of Xmas day itself. Wasn't that funny. Ours to you all, [indecipherable] will have arrived somewhat behind time... But our good wishes are none the less sincere, mon ami, as you sent to me exclusively. I do love "fairies"... Believe in 'em too.... Oh! a visit to fairy land in the most fragrant, and divinely lively thing to be got out of the whole of this funny old life of ours, I assure you. Give me just enough food and drink to sustain me; sufficient garments
