My very dear Cousin
Not many hours after you left us the postman brought a most delightful letter to me from your mother. I do so wish you'd been here that we might have read it together. Verily, the kind lady believes we will visit her in her own clime someday. Well - the veil being thick the views obscure, so the "will" or the "will not's" far from sure. Dear God: the fact of how obscure frightens me.
What a terrible day as regards the elements this has been. Did you keep warm in the train? and did you make yourself comfy in the saloon on board? Mother & I have worried the live long day wondering if you've taken proper care of your dear self.
I at least have reproached myself a thousand times for not being kinder to you whilst with us. I'm very heart sick when contemplating the possibility of having given pain. If I hurt you at all please forgive, it was not done intentionally.
I recollect you chided me for not so much as shaking hands with you upon your arrival. Candidly, Harry,
