Wednesday

My dear Harry

This morning we received your P.C. assuring us of your safe journey & arrival at L-pool in time to take 2.10 PM train... We were so pleased you'd been able to catch that train, it would mean much less trouble in connection with the remainder of your travels, would it not.

Now, Harry, I'm wondering if you did really have a pleasant holiday. There were many things occured which did not go to help matters, & which, in these cases wherein I was to blame, I now much regret. Several times differences between mother & myself made it unpleasant for you... and these I blame myself for not avoiding. On a few occasions I might have been kinder... and if my being so would have made you happier, I regret I was not. However, I think you understand, & perhaps you'll be kind enough to overlook my short comings?

Mother & Dad have not yet spoken... and things are growing rather strained. Still, I'm hoping for improvements in a day or so!
