visit to Chester is the one which is likely to remain most prominently in my memory. It is a glorious old town of most historical interest, the shops & houses all being built in very old english style. The river "Dee" runs through the town on it course down to the sea, & in parts is very wide & rapid. The town itself used to be surrounded by a very strong wall as a protection in the time of war in England. (Chester "coming in" for the greater part of the battle on every occasion.) The greater part of the old wall is still standing having been preserved & kept in repair to a wonderful extent. After going for a sail up the river in a steam launch, my friends & I walked as far as we could on the walls of the town, & then paid a visit to the Cathedral which is very old & of great interest, & so my day at Chester often crops up in my memory as one of great exceitement. Altogether my holiday was a very plesent one, but unfortuniately not half long enough.
When I wrote to you before I think I told you about the Sunday school we were all so busy collecting for, at Glen Mona. Well it is finished now, & was opened by Lord Raglan (the Governor of the Island), last February. It was a great day at Glen Mona, as of cause it is an honour indeed to us, for the Lord Raglan to visit our little parish and
