without some small inconveniences... and your visit here was what might be termed an episode, I suppose. Poor Ellis, may he always have as little to trouble him.

I do hope you really enjoyed yourself whilst with us. Truly, Jurby is rather a long way off from everywhere, but in so far as we could we did your best to please.

Now, Harry, do you worry about making gifts in return for what you term our kindness. Sure, mon, and ye as welcome as the flowers o' illay to all we can give yer!  Don't you worry one little bit, old man - the hospitality of the Britisher will hold despite war-time theories.

I expect mother will write you tomorrow. (She smiled at the monkey card received this morning.) Ida's kiddie looks fine... guess she's enough now with four.

Don't know when I'll be going across. Perhaps the 2nd week of Sep: Shall insist upon mother having a few days in Douglas before I cross - also upon her coming over to join me in L'pool for a day or so ere I return home again. (We've been to Ramsey today where the Maters' getting fitted for a new dress.)

Must be closing now. Many thanks for your kindly thoughts - but don't let your mind dwell too much in the one object, lest you're called upon to pay the price in regrets.

With all the deepest sisterly affection a feeling heart can offer - Believe me, as ever,

Marie
