After a few days at "Rockside" the weather turned unseasonably warm - and very soon we were enjoying the glories of a premature summer instead of snow.
Of course, "Rockside" is a large and fashionable abode. Many of the persons there were there for the purpose of undergoing the treatment - but the most were there merely to enjoy themselves, and made the best of their time.... What with the indoor amusement and entertainments, the beauties of the outdoor surroundings, and the acquaintance of such congenial companions of both sexes, Marie, for one, spent a most agreeable fortnight... I'd lots of pretty new clothes too!
From "Matlock" we went down to "Duffield" to spend a few days with my fathers brother... It was very pleasant there, too. But we did not stay only from the Tuesday till Saturday - getting back here late on last Saturday night...
This house is a thing of beauty and comfort now, Harry. In every nook and corner - expected and unexpected - an electric bulb smiles down at one.... the whole building being kept beautifully warm by the general-heating installation...
