My dear Cousin...

It seems to be some considerable time now since I wrote... and I guess, you'll be feeling sore neglected. I'm sorry, Harry, but honestly speaking, you are not neglected in thought. We think and talk of you all constantly - but are always kept busy, with little time for letter-writing, reading, muses or anything.

Grandma Nicholls is with us just at present. She's been here a couple of weeks now, and expects to stay this month out anyway. She is looking more or less "fit" again now the summer is here. And is enjoying her little holiday immensely... Grandma Livesey is still alive - but only just...

We are having a glorious summer so far. This month is proving exceptionally hot - and your Uncle Jim fairly is enjoying it!

So things nationally are not too good with you at the moment, eh? Well, really, I think this national trouble is universal these days. One is for ever reading of
