Don't forget that from the very first I warned you not to expect much of me later... You practically asked fo my empassioned behaviour - & if you have taken it as encouragement I am very sorry.
Candidly, I'm rather troubled about you. It is a very great pity you ever learned to care so. I know you love me, & having personal experience of what a burden the weight of love can become when unshared, I doubt for your future... Try to forgive if I've hurt you too much - I did not do it intentionally.
And now I'll draw this epistle to a close. When mother & Dad return home I'll write again & let you know how they enjoyed their holiday. (But I'll not write like this next time - just the casual cousinly letter, mon ami.)
Thanks for the couple of columns about the Aussie flowers. It is a truly beautiful compliment... The fairy verses are very sweet too. Wish I could write such dainty stuff.
Adieu to you, Cousin. Try to forgive much learnt whilst in this cold bloodied country of ours.
May the good little gods bless, guide & guard you now & always. Au revoir
(Kindest remembrances to all at your home.) Marie
