money has been collected in a penny fund, of which Mother was the originator. We had a great number of cards printed, covered with sixty squares each to the value of on penny, in which a pencil mark was placed for every penny given. The Sunday school children all took an interest in it, & many of them filled quite a lot of cards in pennies. We ourselves having collected several pounds in this way alone.
Of cause it is a great change living here after being four years at a lively place like the "Athol Hotel" was, but we are getting used to it now, & in the summer time when all the towns are terribly crowded we are very glad of the peaceful quiet of our own country home. We are not really very far from town, as Ramsey (which is the second of importance on the Island) is only four miles from us, & a really lovely walk.
Well I must close now. Mother has just called me to light the lamp in the dining room for her, & as I have mentioned all of the family that live on the Island there is little more left for me to say. But before I close, Mother says that if you have an opportunity, I mean any of you, you must be sure & come & see us here, we should be so delighted to see you 'particularly yourself' & give you all a real warm welcome. My Mother & Dad send love to all your household.
& With very fondest love to Uncle, Auntie & all my Australian cousins not forgetting yourself.
I am yours very affectionately
Cousin Marie.
