are not able to get about as you did.  I remember about the pleasant visit with young Elizabeth to Camden of which you speak - it was then the dearest wish of my heart that she should have been your wife, but others thought differently & I got into a bad scrape for taking her to Camden - as I got into many another scrape of which you knew nothing - I have only heard lately, & wd also add [indecipherable] that you believed the opposition came from me - it was quite the reverse as I loved Elizbth as a sister - your mention of [indecipherable] visit has brought all the circumstances fresh to my mind.  Geo Macleay came [indecipherable] here about two day's ago & we spent a very pleasant aftern together - how [indecipherable] & kind a friend he has
