Notes upon an
Anonymous Journal of a Visit to Scotland, Sep. 14-Oct. 1 n.d.

Apparently written by Lady Parker in 1864.  Although the writing does not bear a close resemblance to that of Lady Parker (Emmeline Macarthur,) many details serve to connect it with her, rather than any other member of the Macarthur family.  It must be remembered also that her letters also show considerable variations in handwriting of the years.
There are frequent references to "we" and "us". "H" appears to have been the writer's companion.  They visited Mrs. and Miss Neill, and various other families of a military or high social rank.  Several references show that the writer spent 1820's to 1840's in Australia, in particular an interesting account of Brisbane and the family of Sir Thomas Brisbane.

Reference to "my brother", pp. 2, 13
" " "my brother's wife," p. 7, 13
" " Sarah on pp. 7-15
The above references point to Sir Edward Macarthur and his wife Sarah née Neill.]

Her brother met them at Dalry and drove them to Swindridge.  A letter from Sir E. Macarthur to his brother James is dated Swindridge House, Dalry, Sept 8, the envelope of which is enclosed by James, "8 Sp. 1864".  In September of other years, Sir Edward wrote from other addresses in Scotland.  There are no letters of Lady Parker's to corroborate this fact, nor is any letter of hers in any other year written from Scotland in September.
