Richmond 6th Aug. 1867

My dear Macarthur,

I was sorry not to have answered by the last outgoing mail, your kind letter of the 22nd May, but now thank you for telling me of what you had done in regard to the payment of dear Emmeline's settlement money.  My remittances from the Commercial Bank, are, by my directions, made only half yearly, as multiplication of accounts is thus spared; and I think I might perhaps suggest to you, what seems to me would save you trouble, and at the same time seem to you a check upon the payments.  If you were to instruct your Bank at Sydney, to pay to my account at the Commercial Bank the proper periodic payments, the matter would be very safely simplified, and you would yourself be relieved from all trouble.  This is, I believe a common course, and one which I offer as worthy of your consideration.  Very
