however, in one respect at least, open to considerable objection as a place of abode.
The climate, especially in winter, is very trying to persons unaccustomed to such bitter severity; and the summer, or rather what is called the summer, has this season been for the most part uncertain and ungenial in the extreme.  Emmeline complains much of the want of sunshine and warmth, and I fear that her complainings are not without ample justification.  She has this year suffered from continual colds, though in other respects, she is well, and she goes about a good deal.
I fully enter into your feelings upon the sad occurrence of last April, and quite understand how impossible it must be for you to keep your mind from reverting to that irreparable loss!
