of many very eminent men on sanitary matters at Richmond & they one & all adhere to the same opinions.  We are just now [indecipherable] under a degree of heat, almost I fancy unparalleled in England.  The The0 in the room in which I am  writing is a little above 800 - what it is out doors I fear to enquire, but I am told that some fine Camellias will be much scorched  that the leaves will drop off!  The summer has come upon us so suddenly and after a very severe winter that we were quite unprepared for it - in fact until the middle of June the trees bore scarcely a leaf & the weather at times even then was  uncomfortably cold.  Morning parties are facing on [indecipherable] but those who have the courage
