My dearest Brother,

It does indeed seem so long since I had any communication from you, that I greatly rejoiced to see your hand writing once more and containing as your letter does the announcement of your dear daughter's marriage, I cannot allow a post to return without sending to you, to Emily, and to her also, our [indecipherable] affectionate congratulations.  Many rumours have reached us from time to time in regards to Capt. Onslow's state of health, upon this point however, you have had ample time to assure yourself, and we do most sincerely rejoice to learn that there no longer exists any impediment to the marriage and that the peaceful state of suspense under which you must all have laboured for so long a period, is at last brought satisfactorily to a
