He is now a visitor to our [indecipherable] & occasions as you may suppose a [indecipherable] sensation.  The photo in the Illustrated News of the 13th will give you a very good idea of his countenance, altho' it scarcely does justice to the [indecipherable] of his face, which has a kind [indecipherable] of purpose.
Another cause of popular excitement is the [indecipherable] here of the [indecipherable] Volunteers, who have arrived in great numbers.  I was surprised a few days since by a visit from Mrs. [indecipherable] who is at present staying in London with Mrs. B. Campbell. She is but little altered (except that she has become stout) & heads up every enquiry after old friends by the old [indecipherable] of "Ah poor thing!" Fanny Campbell who came with
