left a cask of [indecipherable] with Mr Henry. Capt B got his cargo at [indecipherable] and was then coming to ?], but found the trade wind so strong against him, that when he was within 20 miles of the Island, he gave up the attempt and bore away. The reason I have been this particular is because some of our friends, particular Mr & Mrs Shelly, seem to doubt of the truth of the report, but to us it appears a certainty.  I have sent 6 yds ribbon at 2/6 if any more is wanted it will be dearer.
