Your Excellency On hearing of the arrival of Col. Fovaux who landed in Sydney on Friday the 29th July, and conceiving that any true information might be acceptable to His Honor, the next day he wrote the following Letter addressed to his Honor which I intended to have delivered with my own hands on the Monday following - but through reading the Proclamation in the Sydney Gazette of Tuesday July the 31st wherin your Excellency's suspension is mentioned, and also that circumstances attending the same was fully submitted to his Majesty's ministers and his acknowledgement of [indecipherable] the Government of the Colony, I fully thought that my letter would be of no service to his Honor. I therefore take the liberty of sending it to your Excellency and if it proves of the least service shall think my labour simply rewarded and to the Gov. Bligh remain with the greatest respect your Commander in Chief & Excellency willing and very [?] R. Hassall
