My dear Jessie-Jean:-
Your long silence after my departure has now been satisfactorily broken, for your second letter has arrived. Hence I'm chirpy. To show how chirpy I am I had a shave & a haircut, and here's my photo to prove it. My beautiful brown moustache is a thing of the past. It was cut off in the prime of life.
Delighted to hear good news of Jack. I'd be just tickled to death to see [Johnno?] married. But he must bring her out to Sydney and marry her there in Swank style. And he might as well wait till I come home. I think we can smash up Kaiser Bill in a few months now. Hope you liked the pretty things I sent you recently. If I had plenty of money I'd send you a lot more. However I might strike a lucky patch before I return. This is a rush. We're busy. Its mail day.
Good night my darling. Love to all at home & to Loda & Mrs W & Mabel & Francie & Else & Bubbles & Viv & Lin & Mrs Ross & all the rest.
Yours Ol
Tell Pater his letter was most welcome and entertaining. It was really too good to win back only a post card (of me and Herald), but I'm rushing through my mail tonight. I'll write Pater fully later on. Ol
