did not enter any of them. Passing through Robin Hood's Gate we scoured old Richmond Park & saw the fallow deer & the youngsters  gathering chestnuts. Do you remember that little thing from Robin Hood: -

Oh maiden fair, to me declare
Now would it not be merry
To tarry here & chase the deer
And pluck the bramble berry.

Its 21 years exactly since I sang that in the Cantana at the Forest Lodge School Concert.

Everything here reminds me of something historic   - some story or incident & I think I fairly staggered my motor friend (Honble Something Johnstone)   with my knowledge of English history.
