Dear Everybodys:-
You've all heard of the Lights o' London. Well, there aren't any - at present. All the lights are out except those that are absolutely necessary & these are all shaded & dulled. The street lights are only little glares pointed down. All the tops & sides are painted over. The Strand, Piccadilly & Leicester Square etc are just a dull mist with a few dim lights about. We had the Zepplins over the other night. They did not do much damage. The cables will have told you all about them.
I can now walk nicely with a stick. Also I can do motor rides and I've seen a few theatres. I'm sending the programmes on - Tien will enjoy them....
One of the prettiest little shows is "Betty" at Dalys. Its really an up to date version of Cinderella but nicely presented, the leading lady Miss Winifred Barnes, is sweet & dainty. G. P. Huntley is very funny - I expect "Betty" will reach Australia soon. The programmes here are sold - mostly for sixpence each.
