I got from a Turkish prisoner & is a bit of fun. (We have captured over 600 prisoners during the last couple of days). That last sentence is war news but I hope the Censor wont see it. Did I tell you about the prisoners who would not escape? Well, we heard that a lot of Turks would desert & come in only they had been told by the Germans that the Australians butcher all prisoners. So we wanted half a dozen prisoners to escape so that they would tell their comrades how kindly they were treated.
They were sent out to the scrub to cut wood & the General hoped they would bolt. But an hour later they returned each carrying a load of wood as big as a mule would carry. We could not drive them away now. Finish paper. Letter mishi aegre. Maleesh gib it bakshish.
