Anzac 13.6.15

My dear little Jessie Jean : -
I dont want anyone to be jealous Jean so please dont tell them that I read your letter a dozen times.   Considering the mail brought me 27 letters & batch of papers you should feel highly honoured. Im so glad you went out & saw poor little Jean Begg. She is a nice little kid & Im sure that she thoroughly appreciated your visit. Im sure youll weep over the glacie but never mind youll soon find something to do with all your surplus wealth.

Not much news here   Poor Fletcher Quintal was badly wounded yesterday with a shrapnel shell. I saw him only a few minutes before he was struck.   He will lose the sight of one eye. Our brigade is still in the trenches doing its share & the Brigadier and  I run  round every day to see the boys. [five names indecipherable] & most of the boys are well. Im specially fit. I think I'll go out now & slaughter a few more Turks with my penknife.

Lots of love
Ol
