It's morning : the day after the night before. I have just put in 8 hours sweet calm innocent sleep of the just. As a matter of fact ever since I got on the old tub I have slept like a top. Thats why I'm feeling so fit. Besides I want to bank up a lot of spare sleep against the time I shall have to do without a lot. The only time I miss sleep is when I am "officer of the watch". There I have to scour the ship from truck to keelson aloft & alow & abaft & abeam to see that all is well. Then I report to the officer on the bridge & take ten minutes to look at the stars. Venus is still just lovely like Kathies eyes. I had a lot more to say but I've got to get to work now. May be able to send another screed before we land. Best love to all at home & to all the nephews & nieces. Sent a card to Lil Olfer & Jack & Ivor. Yours ever Ol
