& Marshal Liman Von Sanders pasha directed the attack urging the Turks to drive the Australians into the sea. Re our wounded. (Tell Farmer Whyte specially [indecipherable])   We hear that our wounded & prisoners now in the hands of the Turks have been taken to the Gulhane Hospital in Constantinople and are well treated. I believe that the stories told by many of the wounded at the base about mutilation were rather exaggerated.   But some swear that they have seen it. The Turks here are getting rather sick of the job of trying to drive the Australians into the sea. The other night their officers had to drive them forward at the point of their revolvers. Our aeroplane is now overhead & the Taube has disappeared . The Sabbath calm did not last long. Once more there is the roar of the guns and the fusillade of rifle fire but not as heavy as usual.
