My dear Jessie Jean
I'm too lucky. I got a bit of bread yesterday. It was stale & sour & it cost me 1/- for half a loaf from one of the ships. But it was bread. Its the first time that I'v got my teeth through anything but bullybeef & biscuit since we landed. Therefore its the most important item of news & I send it to you. These Turks are terribly clumsy they dont seem to care who they hit. Clumsy cows. Our brigade so far has had 10 killed & 56 wounded.
XXXX Thems kisses

Love
