Mrs. [indecipherable] was full of [indecipherable] Hodgson's marriage to a son of Ld. [indecipherable] - according to her account, it is by no means a good match, as his Father is a very poor [indecipherable] & the Son is a spendthrift, without anything to spend & in fact lives with his Father. I am sorry for Miss Hodgson if this is true, as I thought her a nice girl. We are going tomorrow to spend a few days with some old acquaintances, Mr. & Mrs. [indecipherable] at Chislehurst. Mrs. [indecipherable] is a niece of Lady Louisa Long, the late wife of Col. Long of Bromley Hill. She was I doubt not known to Emily in [indecipherable] days, As we shall hope to be at home again before the mail closes, I shall leave my letter now & add a few lines when we are back or possibly at Chislehurst. 24th [indecipherable]
