Richmond July 15th My dear William,
The time is stealing along for the arrival of another mail and we are beginning to look anxiously for letters from you, which I hope and [indecipherable] may bring good tidings of all at Camden. I need not say how much my thoughts here are with you in this great & overwhelming sorrow! To me it appears while like a troubled dream & I can scarcely yet realize the fact, that our dear Brother is no longer a dweller upon earth. My dear Emily [indecipherable] & yourself, & Elizabeth, who must all & each have daily, hourly, some fresh cause however trifling to [indecipherable] of this sad certainty, the trials occasioned by his loss must indeed be hourly felt! I can only hope & pray, dear William, that time may soften
