a beautiful waterfall where the scenery at once assumed a different aspect. The Glen suddenly widened into an amphitheatre [indecipherable] with Birch & Hazels beneath which the stream meandered round a piece of soft velvety lawn covered with parterre of brilliant flowers, it then again resumed its headlong way & rushing over a steep precipice was lost to sight.  The spot was altogether a most lovely one. 19th.  Left Glenlora with regret & rec'd many pressing invitations to repeat our visit next year.  On our way home stopped to lunch with Mr. & Lady Elizbth Hervey [?] at Castle Scuple [?] after entering their domain our road lay along the banks of a beautiful lock 2 miles in length wh. we were told contained abundance of fish in gt. variety - quiet nice people - Lord & Lady Buchan with their children (five boys) & an Aunt of Lady Elizabeth's were staying in
