My Beloved Brother,

I have only a few minutes to write [indecipherable] that I cannot bear that the packet should be dispatched without a few lines from me and however hurried they be will at least [indecipherable] I [indecipherable] that you have not been absent from my thoughts on this [indecipherable] afternoon.  So dearest Edward your image is continually before me and the noble faith that you have [indecipherable] under the awful calamity [brother John's death in England] with which it has placed the Almighty [indecipherable] us - the
