great regret of the death of our excellent friend John Bigge - His malady of wch. you are aware increased & several alarming attacks of late gave great uneasiness to his friends added to wch. he was very tenacious of being watched or constantly attended upon by his Sister.  He came to Town from Dover where he had been staying & put up at the Grosvenor Hotel in Park St. - In the morning of this attack he had gone to Bloomsbury [indecipherable] & dismissing his servant returned home alone & arrived abt 2 o'clock - His servant saw him quite awake & the waiter had left the room & saw him standing by the fire - In a quarter of an hour after a groan was heard & on going in the room was found full of smoke and he lying on the ground in a fit and most dreadfully burnt in the body
