My Dear James

Having been laid up in London by a violent cough & cold caught during our late horrible east Winds I could have a few days ago to moralize & try to get the better of such troublesome companions; but instead of a dry East we have a S.E wind with sleet & rain so that I do not improve much, nor shall I until I get down to my own home & fireside & be at home w.h I fear I shall not be able to do till June - nevertheless In spite of all this weather I do not repent coming home and for the  relaxation of an employe'  in that or any Colony nowadays is any thing but pleasant - If I had taken no
