His letters all dated last Janry & in good spirits  I expect to meet him once they [indecipherable] in the North on my return home next week -  I gave a letter to a friend of [indecipherable] after making many [indecipherable] enquiries abt. him as I did not know him personally - I hope he will turn out well - Give my affectionate regards & esteem first to your dear mother, Sisters & William, next to your amiable wife and then to Hannibal his wife & all his progeny.  I never think of you which is often, but with the strongest emotions of gratitude & respect - mind this includes Bowman & all his.  I saw your brother Edwd. very well - Ever yours affectionately.
