Monday 5 September 1921

I ring Cyril.  Home & Hurstville. I go to latter we play billiards & I play handsomely in first & last games & win the last one. I hear master R.D's carryings on & Vi St. attributes applauded and O's deplored.

Tuesday 6 September 1921

I get parcel from manly wharf.  Meet Geo, Slatter, Perce, Devereaux & Nip Whale. I meet Pat at Quay. We dine at Sargents & I leave my Book. We go to D.T.C.Ltd Rooms for fit on. We then go to 'On our Selection'  It is very good & poor P. has to pay. I am very sorry.  I wait for 11 pm boat which takes over 40 minutes.  wearisome after again being told off pretty definitely at W.S.Mercantile.                      

Wednesday 7 September 1921

I start summer bathing & no hat, no overcoat. & mum buys a machine for me & gives it to Ellis. I ring Pat & Nance Bennett.  I meet with Tredrea. I leave parcel at wharf S.F. Ltd & I begin to clean costume. I go to John D'arcy, to Otto & meet Cyril. Home & we play Solo & I lose 4 & tell them what evil people they are to win all the money from their guest.

Home at 7 pm. I take whisky and lie down. We have music which I play mechanically & practically without knowing for I am again told "That she is not kind to me" We both like "Lie too lied" and I cannot learn to play it ----
