Thursday 27 January 1921
Rain. I do odd jobs in shop. I buy chip heater. I go to town by 1.45 pm boat. Meet Jean as I get off Boat. Visit O. Prescots. H'mings E's Rooms & Horden Bros. Wait 3 hours for Costumes then don't get them, I meet Fat Annie & walk on Beach front. Sandwiches opp. Club House. League meeting.
Received letter for Lodge P.J.
Friday 28 January 1921
Catch 9.25 boat. Sit on Staircase with very quiet little Lady. I met Chas. Darnet & go to V&K W.O Harper. Raine & Horne, Hard Bros. Back to meet same lady full of life & cheeky. 12.30 boat Home. Back to Manly at 5.30. Go to League & in procession & on stall until 10.30 pm. I am told not to come in on Saturday.
Saturday 29 January 1921
Dad & I go to Manly. I go to Mrs McPhee's. See Ben - very dull - in Bower St. Go to N.S. & swim with Jean,.I work all afternoon & go to Manly at 5.30 & am welcomed spite of all. I promise to [indecipherable]
I play billiards until 8pm & then go on Stall- see all family & Mum goes to Carnival. I am very wild staying in stall all night specially when confetti runs out. I leave after 10 & go with Friends I am still [indecipherable]
Sunday 30 January 1921
Nervy. I work hard at home which helps out. I go to Manly at 12.30. Stay 2 hours at St Elmos & go to Chas Darnts place for money, cigs & drinks, Tea at [indecipherable] after swim, I have etc while Relig. argument goes on. I am very sick at heart
