Monday 2 May 1921

I walk the City & interview Mr Percy. I gain no satisfaction in 10 places except on boat. I go along Beach & to Dr alcorn to Smith to Ellis for tea & to Flats again.  Miss Somesby sees me with my upstairs friend. I go back to Ellis but did not go over for nil I am too tired to play piano & I fall on floor & go to sleep in a couple of minutes.

Tuesday 3 May 1921

I go to Bert Warnes place. I see Et on the  boat I present a Carnation.  I clean a skirt which shows signs of a past history. I baste up in the afternoon. I catch the 5.45 again. I go to flats not for nil. I go to Freshy & walk back to Lizzie & Jack & to [indecipherable] & Home at 8.30 for tea. I fit up & write, I drive with George before going to bed

Wednesday 4 May 1921

I catch 8.10 boat & keep a seat for an absentee. I go to Rockdale & H'Ville with George. Nette at Jail. Father in hospital, We dine with Ida Dulce. I go to Julie's for pictures see "Nomads of the North", I press skirt & make a mess of it. I catch 5.45. deliver suit, have tea on Esplanade Alfresco. Go to No 8. Do a little book-keeping I am awfully disinterested, I am again by morning incident reminded that I am not the only one. I feel as if I am not required
