R.A.C. to Brigadier, 8-38 am:- I can take all white prisoners to Sydney. Would you like this done.
Brigadier to Flagship, 9-5 a.m.:- I concur with your proposal to send white prisoners to Sydney.
Brigadier to Flagship, 9-15 a.m.:- Would be obliged if Medical Officer from Fleet could be directed report here for duty as verbally arranged yesterday. Please forward me copy of any report by Commander Beresford of operations of eleventh.
R.A.C. to Brigadier, 9-35 a.m.:- Lieut. McKenzie will be sent on board "Berrima" for duty with troops. I have received no report from Commander Beresford. I thought you would have had one. Should I get it before you I will inform you of fact.
Flagship to Brigadier, 10-15 a.m.:- Who is Lt. General Wylde.
Brigadier to Flagship, 10-30 a.m.:- I was informed yesterday that a British General named Wylde was in Rabaul. I understand he was travelling in these parts at outbreak of war, and was taken prisoner by Germans and released on parole. I expect him to call at ship today and will advise you later.
Commdr. Beresford per "Protector" to Brigadier, 10-40am:- I have 12 German Prisoners, who desire passes on parole to go back to Kabakaul and beyond; some local residents among the latter, the Manager of the New Guinea Coy.
Brigadier to Commdr. Beresford, 11-35 am:- Grant no passes; send all German prisoners on here.
Brigadier to Flagship, 11-10am:- Understand "Encounter" has a band on board. Could arrangements be made for its attendance at Flag Ceremony this afternoon; if so, I should be extremely grateful. Parade forms up at 2-30pm.
"Protector" to "Berrima", 11-30am - Signal 1102 sent wrongly; here it is again. After New Guinea Coy----- Herr Giesler. Do not feel disposed to grant this without your sanction. Will you please advise me.
Flagship to Brigadier, 11-30am - I will endeavor to arrange for a band to be present.
R.A.C. to Brigadier, 11-35am: Have you any communication from Governor yet?
Brigadier to Flagship, 11-45am:- Reply from Governor promised at 4-30 today. Have sent a Motor Cyclist towards Toma for it. Will advise you upon receipt.
Flagship to General, 12 noon: (Negative "Melbourne"). The British Flag will be hoisted on shore and saluted at 3pm. Captains and any Officers who wish to attend and can be spared should be on the parade ground at 2-50pm. Parade ground is first to the right of the Pier. Dress - Whites, Helmets, Swords and full dress belts.
