Monday 10 October 1921
I go to Tommy Williams with coat. cold westerly blowing. I go home very tired. Dad not much better. I play piano for a while but not too happily. I cut a suit and then read until 10 pm. I sleep very little as Dad coughs dreadfully.
Tuesday 11 October 1921
I come up with Jim Roberts in New Harley. I darn costume for D.P.P. I heat up boards for P.P. at 110. I dine with George. I rush around to Dr Minnetts but no lunch so go home. I ring Nette and George. I read until 9 sleep until 11.30. Dad coughs from 12 to 1 and mum has a heart attack & shivering and fears death. We get to sleep well after 1 pm. Lovely night but we are so worried.
Wednesday 12 October 1921
I go to Minnett and catch 9.25 boat. I go to Paddington and to Everinghams at Newtown. I buy crockery. I pick strawberries early. I go to N.S. with K and P.P. After tea we cut hay and look pictures in Books until 9.30. We make ourselves comfortable. P.P. donnes moi a peck. I [indecipherable] a lot. P.P. gets headache and I don't know what to do so I stay over late and then I am bundled, literally bundled, out of the place like a criminal without a kind work[sic] to catch last boat and walk Home. I struck two cobbers so have company on the road and meet Jack Westwood and the Smith family on the boat. I am very very unhappy
