Thursday 8 September 1921
Dick gets burnt & O & Mona call at 110. I ring Dick & in haste to use the name of my chum selfishly & indiscriminately to get out of my own invitation. I ring P. & tell of my misdeed. I go to League & get fed up again ----- Dad goes to L.D.L. we come home together. I finish reading Little Dorrit.
Friday 9 September 1921
I go to Dick's place for tea after delivering a parcel meet Ethel on wharf. I get e'air cut. I enjoy a very nice tea & O. Cooks as well as anyone. Dolly & Frank come over. I am displeased with criticisms of the music of the musician neighbours by those who can do no better. I catch 10 boat home. I have difficulty in finding the flat. I meet P. & B. on the way Home. The machine arrives at 110 ----
Saturday 10 September 1921
Say Good bye to Ethel & Rose & Vi. Go home & garden I miss tram & walk to boat & P. misses two boats but we happily meet & go to Hall via Bower St. by 8.50 over -- I am very bad dancer & give little or no pleasure to my chum. I meet quite a lot of old acquaintances. We sup with Charlie Vallock & Iris Bevis. We all dormir a la perco
Sunday 11 September 1921
Up early & we get away to Palm Beach. We take morning tea at Greig's. No boat until 2.15. I attempt to mais j'au seul & I do. I am sick on launch & so is P. We drive over looking Barrenjoey & Lion Island & Ettylong Beach. I am told that She is not a bit kind to me. We go back to Newport & the pain worse than ever. We crowd on to the motor bus.
