came to the house which is exactly like a beautiful private house & not in the least like an hotel - after lunch it was raining too much for us to see the grounds so we contented ourselves with inspecting the house & conservatory - we saw some beautiful looking peaches now ripe in one house which the gardener told us would be sold for 1 shilling each.
We were at Hampton Court one day last week & saw one wonderful grape vine in the vinery there - the gardener who takes care of it told us that it is 119 years old & this year has 1500 bunches on it - they were not very large & were quite green.
We are beginning
