Memorial window provided the Chancel not to be connected in any way to us but I knew Uncle Wm & Mother could not afford to meet the whole expense & as we had always privately considered the Church as named St Johns  after my Grandfather & a pet project of his I thought there would be no harm in mentioning the matter to you as Uncle Edward might perhaps choose to help us. At this time I thought the Committee had ordered the window & that it would if not stopped arrive very soon in the Colony, but James Chisholm has prevented this & the money is now out at interest until such time as the church is ready for the window. So the matter rests & Uncle Wm & Mother intend to put by £100 from time to time for this purpose
