was fine looking area for many miles. To the S.E by South I observed a most remarkable monolithic mountain. elephant shaped and with perpendicular sides. Splendid grass abounded on the mountain I was on and kangaroos  & wallabies appeared to be very numerous

Regaining the level, I found that the column had joined Pinadhy so we proceeded on our route, travelling northwards along the plains and open country, which was very fine and abundantly grassed

A fine stream appeared on our left and we fol-lowed for a mile and a half and crossed it where a ridge of rock transversed it. There are some grand waterfalls
