                                                           May 6th  1891

to get letters, papers and

rations. It was sun-

set as I reached Wyndham

but I got all I required

without delay, and retraced  

my steps, the night was

very dark, and I found that

the horses were getting fatigued

so when I got as far as

Byrnes at the Six Mile I

resolved to camp there. This

gave me an opportunity to

read my much relished cor-

respondence. As soon as

Michael Byrne was up in the  

morning to give me a supply

of beef I resumed my

journey to the camp, as I

knew all there were anx-

iously waiting for their letters  

and papers. I reached  

there at 8.30 and had a good
