Mitchel grass (Allen), emu grass
and flinders grass, with others,
all appearing to be free from seed
or other properties. The
prevailing timber is grey box,
white box, lapunya, and blood-
wood, an acacia resembling the
bauhinia of North Queensland, with
occasional clumps of pine and
jarrah. Along the rivers and
creeks the trees are chiefly papyrus
river ash, Leichhardt pine, boab and
palm. Water was every
where very plentiful, and run-
ning creeks occured every few
miles, while at Wyndham
on one side and Derby on the
other they are suffering from
a severe dry season. I have
no hesitation in saying that this
country is suitable for sheep
