roll down and get killed we had to unpack some of them and take their burdens down in sections. We camped at the foot of this declivity on a patch of green sward with a mountain creek run-ning by it.

   Friday 27th. It was later than usual when we left the camp at Carson Glen this morn-ing as we had some alterations to make in the packs. Shortly after leaving camp we heard some natives yelling, and soon we saw several of them perched on the top of the cliffs above us taking a full review of us. We travelled through some fine country all day with blue grass, star grass, tuft grass, Kangaroo grass etc.
